SYNOPSIS

The energy industry is a high-risk business sector that provides a considerable volume of premium income to the world’s insurance markets including Nigeria. Energy insurance underwriting requires specialized skills, knowledge and experience to meet the challenges of underwriting and regulation especially with the rapidly advancing technology.

In view of the dearth of skills in this class of business, the College has developed this workshop to provide in-depth training on energy business and its underwriting and this is being offered to members of staff of insurance organisations. The details of the training is provided below:

1.     Training Objectives

The aim of this programme is to enable participants to understand:

a.     Gain insight into the energy business and its liabilities

b.     The energy risk engineering

c.     The nature and extent of coverage available in the energy insurance business

d.     Onshore property energy underwriting structure

e.     Offshore marine property energy underwriting and structure

f.      Energy insurance reinsurance

g.     Impact of captive insurers on energy insurance and reinsurance

h.     The oil and gas insurance business regulation.
